.JAPANESE STREETWEAR BRAND SUPPLIER
The Japanese streetwear brand, Supplier launched as a street-contemporary select store in Shibuya, Tokyo in 2018 curating up-and-coming streetwear brands from across the globe to the domestic market, supported through a programme of parties, pop-ups and projects. They launched their first in-house range in 2020. They are catering to customer demands not being met elsewhere in the street-contemporary space.
This founding principle of reacting to fast-changing and unpredictable Gen-Z consumer trends is at the heart of Supplier – Innovative. Present. Fast-Paced. Exciting.
Named to reflect the select store’s goal of being the best Supplier for international streetwear within the Japanese market, this ethos came to embody the Supplier brand – to be the best supplier of contemporary streetwear in the wider market, working with exclusive manufacturing partners to allow the highest quality product at accessible prices for the global streetwear community.
Supplier is quickly gaining momentum within the Japanese community. It is quickly establishing itself as a force within the Japanese streetwear scene. They have offices now in Tokyo, London, New York, Shanghai and Amsterdam. All members of the wider Supplier team are under 30, across multiple nationalities, and based around the globe. The interplay of creative and diverse digital natives behind the scenes organically gave rise to a new direction and shared-ethos which continues to underpin the brand – A Borderless World.
The Racing Car Collection
The campaign was hot on location at the Fuji Speedway in the foothills of Mount Fuji. The capsule collection comprises a Racing Suit inspired jacket and patch jeans, Chequered Flag knits, hoodie and Racing Crew. The team reimagined the Supplier logo and branding through a motor team racing patch lens. The repurposing and reimagining of the Supplier logo in-line with microtrends and collaborations is central to the brand’s visual playful, dynamic, pop-culture inspired identity.
This capsule has been launched in anticipation of the brand’s first full internationally available AW collection. It has been available since the start of November.
