DANIËLLE CATHARI REVIVES “THE WOOLRICH WOMAN”

Pennsylvania-based outdoor brand Woolrich has collaborated with designer Daniëlle Cathari to revive its 80s label  “The Woolrich Woman” – a line that has remained untouched for 40 years. With her playful subversion and out-of-the-ordinary design philosophy, the Dutch designer gives Woolrich’s outdoor style a truly modern makeover.

Andrea Canè, global creative director at Woolrich, said in a statement. “We gave Daniëlle Cathari creative freedom to interpret our history. She added her personal signature through a game of deconstruction and reconstruction. With this first collection, Daniëlle was able to add fun to our integrity. Envisioning this ‘everyday woman’, practical and elegant at the same time.”

Taking inspiration from contemporary women walking their own independent paths, “The Woolrich Woman” FW21 collection features a variety of outerwear such as the DC Fleece Jacket, DC Puff Jacket, DC Puff Vest, DC Merino Zip-Up, paired with the DC Puff Skirt in the campaign. To add a touch of fall, Daniëlle Cathari use neutral hues and cool tones, ranging from “Cream” and “Sand” to “Pine Melange”. All looks come with signature accessories of winter like fluffy bucket hat and knitted scarf, which brings a cozy sense.

“It truly is an honor to give the opportunity. To work with such an iconic company. To revive ‘The Woolrich Woman’ is of sentimental and personal value to me. The way I envision this woman is shaped by my own. Experiences of becoming a woman,” – Cathari speaks on the collaboration in a press release. “How you feel has everything to do with how you dress. I want to design for women to feel comfortable. Secure and happy with what they’re wearing, wherever they go and whatever they do.”

Daniëlle Cathari x Woolrich’s “The Woolrich Woman” FW21 range is now available via Daniëlle Cathari’s website, as well as Woolrich stores and select retailers.
