Sean Suen has not disappointed us with his Spring Summer 2022 collection. Minimalist, it might be, yet its unique sensual vibe does not fail to impress. It does not scream and shout to make itself noticed but almost seems indifferent to the opinion of others. The soft shades of off-white, blue, purple, green, and beige colors set a contrast against Navy blues and blacks. The fabrics and materials also provide contrast. Monocolors provide a sort of uniformity and calm. The fabrics almost seem to hug the wearer in a comforting way as the touch of a lover would console.
The collection is called Ephemeralm like the warmth of the touch or firework that does not last long but can leave a long-lasting impression and impact on our hearts.
Sean Suen‘s fashion film called “Unfinished” is not any less impressive. It is not very short yet captivates the attention of the viewer and keeps the eyes glued to the screen till the end. The music sets the mood perfectly. If it has to be described in one word, it would have to be “ sensual”. Like the soft touch of a lover that seems to heal the emotional wounds and fades the scars of long-inflicted injuries. It feels warm and comfortable like you feel when your lover holds your head in his lap and touches your skin with his tender fingers.
A single model marches in the opposite direction to a file of models moving in unison like an army. It is easy to follow the herd but hard to stand part and follow your path. They walk on what seems like the rooftop of an industrial building as the fog and height make the cityscape almost invisible. Rising above all and fading the noise in the background isn’t an easy feat either.
In the end, we see friends dancing the night away by the fire while playing with the firework watching it with the curiosity of a child. The curiosity that we somehow seem to lose as we grow into adulthood.
