Inspired by dad’s closet in order to rediscover timeless outfits, House of Leo unveils their latest summer collection shot by Bogdan Shirokov.
According to the designer and the owner of House of Leo, Leo Alexeev, it is about the ability to adapt grown men’s garments to fit the contemporary street style. Going through his dad’s wardrobe during his teenage years, he loved the classy attire, the baggy shapes and the silhouettes of the clothes.
Alexeev wants to bring that same classy feel to his collections. Looking at the old photographs and movies, you can’t miss the classy wardrobes of the men. The keen attention to detail with the need to look sharp seemed so effortless. That is what Alexeev wants to exhume and bring to the table, and he does just that as he effortlessly mixes both vintage and contemporary fashion styles that give the collection its unique disposition.
The first collection was more heavily inspired by the classic look. However, the latest collection gives us a more modern touch to the original idea. The pants are still baggy and the tops oversized. Fabric with vertical stripes, both big and small along with the check prints was used for the clothes. Apart from modern and vintage fabrics, some pieces are also made using faux leather.
The campaign casts two young male models, Nikita and Steve at Nik Model Management, to hang out at the beach on a sunny afternoon. We love their connection and the simplicity in the styling.
Shirokov shot the campaign for House of Leo beautifully. The images take us back to the 70s and 80s with the clever use of subtle colours and warm hues. Everything in these photographs works in perfect harmony with the garments which look comfortable and perfect for any situation or occasion.
