Anderson Hotel dinning area

Andersen Boutique hotel Copenhagen is a luxurious accommodation in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is situated just a stone’s throw away from the central station. Located in the historical meatpacking district, Vesterbro which is now considered a trendy and chic area, the Anderson hotel has a history of its own. The same family has owned the hotel since over 80 years.

The hotel is housed in multi-story brick building on a rather quiet street. The interior décor is hip and retro-inspired. Bright colour scheme adores the furnishing. As you enter the building, there is a comfortable sitting area on the right with magazines, books and board games while on the left there is the bar and the dining area. A lift is available to go to the right floor but we loved using the stairs too for the inspiring messages on each floor and the free candies and Danish biscuits placed on each floor.

The Room

Our room was on the fourth floor. A spacious room with king size bed, a study table and a separate sitting area with a comfortable sofa that could also act as a bed if needed. The washroom was ultra-clean equipped with Molton Brown toiletries a shower and a bath. The bold colours and the geometric patterns used in the décor of the room together with ample amount of light from the big windows gave it a comfortable, ultra-luxurious and elegant atmosphere.

The room came equipped with well-stocked fridge, coffee machine and kettle.  Fresh flowers along with a basket full of seasonal fruits decorated the study table.

The Location

We could not have asked for a better and more convenient location. The central station was only a short walk away and it took just 20 minutes to reach the station from the airport. The area of Vesterbro where the hotel is located is quite trendy and full of interesting bars and restaurants. A lot of attractions of the city are at walking distance. The hotel also offers bikes for hire which can offer another stylish way to explore the city at a faster pace. The 19th century Tivoli Gardens are just a short walk away too which feature food stalls, funfair and a concert hall. There are plenty of art and photography galleries in the area for you to explore.

The Food

Andersen Hotel offers Buffett breakfast which offers a wide choice of international and Danish cuisine. While the menu includes ham and smoked salmon, they cater for vegans or vegetarians. There are plenty of options to choose from. The fresh juices are a refreshing way to start the day and there is a wide variety of them as well.

Although the restaurant does not offer lunch and dinner, it serves drinks and snacks all day long. 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm is the ‘Wine Hour’ everyday. They encourage the guests to join for a free glass of wine or a hot drink if they would like. It gives the guests a chance to mingle in the warm and cosy friendly atmosphere which Nordics name as Hygge. Their unique concept24 means that you can check-out 24 hours after checking-in. Which makes late checkout possible and provides convenience to the guests.

WHY DO WE RECOMMEND IT

Andersen Boutique hotel Copenhagen is a fantastic place with a central location, stylish art décor and hygge environment. The proximity to most interesting locations in the city and the convenience of hiring a bike to explore the city makes it even more favourable. Their unique 24 hour check out policy makes it very convenient for the guests who would need to check out a bit late.
